Arnaud Dalais

P. Arnaud Dalais has been appointed as chairman of Alteo Limited on 24th June 2015, following his wish to retire as Group Chief Executive of the Company with effect from 30th June 2015. Under his leadership, the Company has gone through an important development both locally and on the international front. He has led his team to successfully conclude the merger of FUEL and DRBC. He is also the Chairman of the CIEL Group and as such chairs the Boards of CIEL Ltd, CIEL Textile Ltd and Sun Resorts Ltd. He plays an active role at the level of the Mauritian private sector and has assumed the Chairmanship of a number of organizations including the Joint Economic Council from 1999 to 2001.

Jean-Claude Béga

Jean-Claude Béga is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He joined GML in 1997 and is the Chief Financial Officer of GML Management Ltée. He is a member of the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants and a Fellow of the Mauritius Institute of Directors. Jean-Claude Béga is the Chairman of Phoenix Beverages Ltd and Director of a number of companies including AfrAsia Bank Ltd, LUX* Island Resorts Ltd, Alteo Properties Ltd, Anahita Estates Ltd, Anahita Golf Ltd and Anahita Residences & Villas Ltd. Jan Boullé

Jan Boullé is an 'Ingénieur Statisticien Economiste (France)' and holds a diploma of '3ème cycle de Sciences Economiques, Université Laval, Quebec (Canada)'. He joined the Constance Group in 1984 and is currently Head of Projects and Development. Arnaud Lagesse

Arnaud Lagesse holds a “Maitrise de Gestion” from the University of Aix-Marseille III, France and is a graduate of “Institute Supérieur de Gestion”, France. He also completed an Executive Education Program at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France, and an Advanced Management Program (AMP180) at Harvard Business School, Boston, USA. He joined GML in 1993 as Finance and Administrative Director before becoming in August 2005 its Chief Executive Officer. He also participated in the National Corporate Governance Committee as a member of the Board. He is a member of the Board of Directors of several of the country’s major companies and is the Chairman of BlueLife Ltd, Ireland Blyth Ltd, LUX* Island Resorts Ltd, inter alia. Arnaud Lagesse is an ex-president of the Mauritius Chamber of Agriculture, the Mauritius Sugar Producers Association and the Sugar Industry Pension Fund. Arnaud Lagesse is also the Chairman of GML Fondation Joseph Lagesse.

Jean-Pierre Dalais

Jean-Pierre Dalais obtained his MBA from the International University of America, San Francisco. He started his career with Arthur Andersen, working in both Mauritius and France. He joined the CIEL Group in 1990 as General Manager of Aquarelle Clothing Ltd, before proceeding to the head office where he played a key role in developing the affairs of the group in Mauritius and internationally. Jean-Pierre Dalais is now the Executive Director of CIEL Ltd and assumes directorships in several companies.

Amédée Darga
Independent Non-Executive Director - first appointed to the Board in 2012

Amédée Darga is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He is also a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers of Mauritius. He is the Managing Partner of Straconsult, a Social Science Researcher, a Trustee of SEATINI (Southern & Eastern Africa Trade Information Network Initiative) since 2003 and Chairman of the Mauritius Africa Business Club. Amédée Darga has served as Minister of Housing, Lands, Town and Country Planning for two years and previously occupied numerous positions such as Mayor of Curepipe. He was a Member of Parliament since the age of 26 and from 1976, Trade Union Negotiator and Adviser. He is a regular resource person to the United Nations on matters of governance. Amédée Darga is a member of the Company's Audit & Risk Committee.

Jérôme de Chasteauneuf

Jérôme De Chasteauneuf is qualified as Chartered Accountant of England and Wales. He also holds a BSc honours in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (1989). He joined CIEL Group in 1993 as Project Financier and became Head of Finance in 2000. Jean de Fondaumiere
Independent Non-Executive Director - first appointed to the Board in 1996

Jean de Fondaumiere is a Chartered Accountant of Scotland. He worked in Australia for 11 years and retired as CEO of the Swan Group at the end of 2006 after fifteen years. He is a past Chairman of The Stock Exchange of Mauritius and his former directorships include companies operating in the African, Indian Ocean and Asia Pacific regions. Jean holds a portfolio of directorships in Mauritius for companies operating in commerce, finance, power generation, sugar and tourism. Thierry Lagesse

Thierry Lagesse holds a 'Maîtrise des Sciences de Gestion' from the University of Paris Dauphine. Up to 12th August 2013, he was the Non-Executive Chairman of GML Investissement Ltée. Fabien de Marassé Enouf holds a Bcom (Accounting and Finance) from Curtin University (Australia) and qualified as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 2004. He joined the Corporate Finance practice of PwC Mauritius in 2005. As Senior Manager, he has advised clients on several M&A projects, finance raising projects and business valuations both locally and in the region and has regularly been involved on stock markets related work. Fabien joined Alteo Ltd in January 2014 as Chief Finance Executive.

    Patrick de L. d'Arifat holds a BSC degree in Economics and Accountancy from City University, London.   • Robert Baissac
    Chief Executive Officer of TPC Ltd

    Robert Baissac holds a BSc honours in Agriculture from the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg. He joined the Company in 1984 as Assistant Agronomist and was then appointed Agronomist in charge of diversification in 1985. In 1987, he joined Mon Trésor Mon Désert S.E as Sugar Cane Agronomist and was also in charge of Agricultural diversification and in 1991, he was appointed Field Manager of Cie de Beau Vallon Ltée and was responsible for all aspects of sugar cane production and diversification.

     

    In 2000, Robert was appointed CEO of TPC Ltd. He is responsible of the overall operations of the said company as well as expansion programmes.

    Chief Finance Executive

  • Jean-Luc Harel
    Industrial Development Consultant

    Jean-Luc Harel holds a National Diploma in Sugar Technology from the University of Natal, South Africa. He started his career at the Mon Désert Alma Sugar Factory as Assistant Chemist. In 1975, he joined Médine Sugar Estate Ltd as Assistant Factory Manager, then moved to Reufac Sugar Estate as Factory Manager and subsequently to Boboulo Ltd as Manager before returning to FUEL Group in 1982 to develop the first Coal/Bagasse Cogeneration power plant at FUEL.


     
    In 1986, he was promoted to the position of Assistant Estate Manager before taking over as Estate Manager from 1993 to 1999. He was then seconded to be the General Manager of Companhia de Sena, SARL in Mozambique to take charge of the Marromeu Estate and factory rehabilitation. He returned to Mauritius in July 2005 to resume his position as Manager of FUEL and of its sugar industry subsidiaries. Since the creation of Alteo, Jean-Luc has been Industrial Development Consultant to the group. He is currently on a mission as Acting CEO for Transmara Sugar Company Limited.

  • Stéphane Isautier
    Development Executive of Sucrière des Mascareignes Ltd

    Stéphane Isautier holds a Masters degree in Agronomy from the Institut National Agronomique, Paris (1993). Stéphane thereafter spent 5 years in the audit department of Arthur Andersen Paris, where he acquired a strong financial and corporate background.

     

    Over the last fifteen years, Stéphane pursued his career in the sugar cane industry and occupied various executive functions in cane and beet sugar processing units successively in Vietnam, Czech Republic, Reunion Island, Mozambique, Brazil and France. Stéphane joined Alteo Group in February 2015 as Development Executive and will henceforth lead the group's initiatives to become a regional player in the sugar cane industry.

  • Sebastien Lavoipierre
    Chief Operations Officer - Industrial Activities

    Sébastien Lavoipierre holds a Bsc. degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Natal and an MBA from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh Business School. He joined Les Gaz Industriels in 1998 as Production Manager and then held a senior management position at Ireland Blyth Ltd from 2003 to 2006.

     

    He was the project Manager of the MCFI Group from 2007 to 2008 and Business development Manager of the Harel Mallac Group in 2009. In 2010, he was promoted to Managing Director of the Chemical arm of the Harel Mallac Group. In August 2013, Sébastien joined Alteo Ltd as Chief Operations Officer of the sugar milling and energy activities.

  • Patrice Legris
    Chief Executive Officer of Alteo Properties Ltd

    Patrice Legris holds a Masters in Economic and Social Administration from Sorbonne – Paris, as well as a Diploma in Personnel Management from the University of Mauritius. CEO of Alteo Properties since April 2012, Patrice was previously CEO of l'AHRIM (Association des Hôteliers et Restaurateurs de l'Ile Maurice) and former Director of the Mauritius Sugar Producers Association (MSPA).

  • Jean-Robert Lincoln
    Group Agricultural Development Executive

    Jean-Robert Lincoln joined the Company in 1985. Initially involved with sugar cane operations in Mauritius, he occupied various responsibilities within Agronomy and R&D. He has, over the last fifteen years, been playing a more active role in evaluating and developing agricultural opportunities abroad and is currently Group Agricultural Development Executive.

     

    He holds a BSc in Crop Science from Natal University, South Africa (1983), a Certificate in Sugar Agriculture from the South African Sugar Association (1984), a Certificate in Agricultural Water Management from Cranfield University, UK (1990), and an MBA from the University of Surrey, UK (1997).

  • Christian Marot
    Chief Operations Officer - Agricultural Activities

    Christian Marot holds a Diploma in Management Studies from the University of Mauritius (1985) and Master in Business Administration from the University of Surrey, England (1997). He joined the Company in 1983 as Section Manager and occupied successively the positions of Assistant Field Manager (1987) and Field Manager (1991) until his appointment as General Manager in 2002.

     

    Christian is currently the Chief Operations Officer of the agricultural activities of Alteo Ltd.

  • David Martial
    Communications & Development Executive

    David Martial, born in 1977, holds a Master in Communication from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, France (2001). He started his career at the Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB) before being appointed Group Communication Manager of CIEL in 2006, overlooking its corporate communication strategy. From 2006 to 2010, he was involved in many projects & investments of the CIEL Group in different sectors such as agro-industry, textile, investment and property, including the initial development phases of Anahita.

     

    David thereafter pursued his career in the tourism and hospitality sector at the Mauritian hotel groups Sun Resorts and Veranda Leisure Hospitality (VLH) as Group Marketing Manager and Head of Marketing & Business Development respectively. From 2012 to 2016, he was the Managing Partner of Hospitality Plus, a company specialised in digital marketing and reservations solutions for the hospitality and travel sector in Africa and the Indian Ocean region. David joined ALTEO in September 2016 to manage the Group’s communication strategy and to evaluate new business development opportunities in Mauritius.

  • Sophie Strauss
    Human Resources Executive

    Sophie Strauss holds a Masters in Human Resource Management from the University of Guildhall (2002) in the UK and has a Fellow Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. She joined the group in August 2015 after spending 10 years with the Nestlé Group based in the UK. She was appointed as the Head of Human Resources for Nestlé Waters UK in 2010. Prior to this, her role was Lead Human Resources Business Partner in the beverage category.

    Before her time in FMCG, Sophie spent 7 years with Compass Group Plc based in the UK - focusing on HR management in contract catering and the food retail sector in both railway stations and airports. Her operational experience lends itself to the focus required in terms of the overall human resources strategy for the group. Sophie joined Alteo in August 2015 as the group's Human Resources Executive.
